Leopard

Hello! It rained all last night in California and my best friend and I went out to dinner, which was incredibly tasty, especially considering the lack of restaurants where I live. I wore a velvet black shift dress and did my usual 60s makeup. (I will try to do photos soon).
In other news, I found this bitchin' photo website the other day called We Heart it and I can't stop myself from going back and searching through all of these interesting and unique photos. So check it out if you can!
I was thinking of really changing up my look and going for those bangs. The kind I want would look really 60s, and if you love something, might as well jump right into it right? Pretty much these bangs here-

On that note, I'm really into leopard coats lately and I've found some vintage and modern photos to share with you!

Etsy- 60s Pieces

While looking through Etsy, drooling over 60s clothing, I decided to share some of the lovely pieces I have found! Check them out if you have time!

Mod Fox.

So, I've gotten a few questions on the NAME of my blog: Mod Fox.
When I created this place of photography, the 60s and fashion, I wanted a name to completely encompass all of that AND some. So I created Mod Fox.

MOD-
Mod being the 60's term, short for Modern or Modernist, which was used by young, mostly British guys and girls. They were identified by their tailored fashion tastes and 60s pop music. I love Mod styles because of their clean fabrics and shapes, as well as looking classic 60s cool.

FOX-
No, not a Fox like this (although it IS wonderfully adorable..)

But I got the Fox part from a doors Song called, "20th Century Fox". As you all should know, The Doors were an AMAZING band who started in the mid 60s in California. I've always loved them, but the song I find somewhat fashion oriented. It's about a gorgeous, confident, strong woman which I find very inspiring, especially in the fashion world.

So that's it! Just the breaking down of two words that both have a great deal of meaning to me.
I hope that answered any questions!

Thank you, Steph!

I would like to send a really big thank you to my best friend, Stephanie, for creating my new Mod Fox heading. She put so much talent and effort into drawing my mug and making a wonderful art piece, which I LOVE!
She is the best young artist I've met. That little Canadian is going places! Thank you again Steph! Love you!<3

My Fall/Winter Must haves!

So, Ive been slowly getting out of that summer clothing style and into some lovely fall pieces! (Although it IS 88 degrees where I am in California..) Following along with my usual clothing style,(Romantic Badass) I've found some pieces that I can't help but revisit and imagine in the cold months. Not all of them are 60s influenced, but they are definitely me :)

High-waisted leather shorts!(These from Urban outfitters)
I can't wait to pair these with patterned tights.

Black lace blazer. I've been piing for this one in LC's Kolh's collection. It's very 60s Edwardian style.

Dark red velvet mini dress! This one(worn by Elle R. on lookbook)is from American Apparel. I love the rich tone of it and the length, like a 60s cocktail dress.

Leather and suede kitten heels! I just found these at mod cloth.com. The colours are amazing for Fall!

So pretty much, Leather, lace, and some deep jewel tones. So beautiful<3
