Valentines Camp-out!- Photography

Models-  Seisha and Travis, Dress- Rachel Antonoff, Marquee arrow- Dark Marquee designs, photography, styling and handmade arrows- Me

This is my Valentines day camp out shoot! It was featured on Love and Lavender today!
A pink camping tent, red and pink hearts, a lighted marquee arrow and a real, adorable couple create a Valentines day retro camp-out! Inspired by 1950s, this Valentine’s Day features a sweets tray with homemade Macaroons and cupcakes, classic Coca Colas, old suitcases and bright flowers in vintage kitchen tins, all lit with a lovely afternoon glow! With the help of a local designer, a wooden marquee arrow and tent were made to further set our day back in time!

Black Cat Arizona

Blue velvet skirt c/o- OASAP.com, Nordstrom's Black cat tank, Zara- Spiked blazer, Jc litas

This. Skirt. I. Love.
Oh my goodness. I've always wanted to buy a velvet skater skirt, like the ones at American Apparel, but I seriously cannot convince myself to spend that much on a simple skirt (no matter how well made it is) so when OASAP sent me this gorgeous piece of amazingness, I was beyond happy to show it off!
The Zara spiked blazer was a gift from my best friend for Christmas, thanks Bibs!
I have to say, I'm so very happy it's finally February!
I freakin AD ORE valentines day and I have a special valentines day post to share with everyone soon!

Be a Mod! THE WHO CONCERT TICKET GIVEAWAY

BE A MOD -- NO POSEURS ALLOWED

Iconic band The Who are currently blowing audiences away on their Quadrophenia and More tour, playing their classic 1973 album Quadrophenia in its entirety, followed by an encore of their greatest hits.
This second rock opera from The Who explores the mod culture – and teen angst – which bloomed in post-war Britain. Mod culture has a rich heritage, whether it’s from the gloriously stylish 1960s, its comeback during the early 1980s, or even today, with cyclist and “King of the Mods” Bradley Wiggins.
But who needs a cultural revival to be a mod? Here are some tips to bring it back on your own.

Fashion
Men, stick to slim-fit pants and suits with pointy shoes or some really groovy trainers (that’s Brit for “tennis shoes,” America).  Keep your tees simple and make a statement. Ladies, you’ll want to reach for short, bold colored dresses and tall, bright boots. Throw on some white eye liner for good measure.
Be sure to refrain from buying yourself a leather jacket, lest you look like a rocker. Beware of dark turtlenecks, too. We can’t have any beatniks lurking in our mod midst.

Transportation
Get a scooter immediately. It is an absolute staple of mod transportation. And think of what you’ll save on gas! But if a sporty car is more your speed, you may want to look into acquiring a late 60s model Honda. Hondas were a far cry from today’s Civics and Accords and believe it or not, were a sensation in the UK circa the late 60s.

Film
The 1960s gave birth to a lot of fabulous, mod classic titles like Blow Up, Angel Baby and To Sir With Love. And there’s also a little film called Quadrophenia you may want to Netflix. Invite your mates over to enjoy a hibiscus margarita and catch a few flicks.

Language
The subtle art of the mod vocabulary some call “mockney” will solidify your place among their ranks. Consider using “bird” in place of woman or girl and start calling your friends “mates.” When you want to get someone’s attention, it’s best to shout “Oi!” But be sure if you want to pay a compliment, you’re calling someone an “ace,” not an “arse.”

Music
You’ll find lots of “The” bands on the Mod music scene – little bands like The Beatles, The Kinks, The Faces and, of course, The Who. And once you’re caught up on your beauty sleep, you should promptly get yourself to an underground all-night dance club to totally enjoy some of their hits.
Now get off your arse, grab your mates, and go check out The Who’s “Quadrophenia and More” tour. Tickets can be purchased http://bit.ly/YtBsRR. Cheers!

My Custom dress

Custom dress- eShakti.com, Heels- Sway, Hat H&M

So sorry for my hair and awkward face in a few of these photos. It was absolutely blowing a freezing wind
that day which had me trying to look like I'm pleasantly enjoying a sunny day and not, as in reality, turning into a Shell-sicle! This dress was custom made for me by the lovely people at eShakti!
They design personalized pieces based on whatever style you like!
Each style--whether standard sized, custom styled or custom sized--is cut to order and made right there!
Its very cool. If you like a dress, but want a shorter hem and longer sleeves they will create it for you! The best part is that their sizing ranges from 0-36! So ANY woman can look gorgeous just the way she wants to! I choose this dress becuase it reminded me of a Mad Men style of the early 60s. I had to belt my dress becuase I didn't give them my exact measurements (like the should have) becuase it was holiday season and I was in a rush. BUT still love the dress and the whole concept of their company! Check them out!

All the lights are coming on now

 Dress, coat and beret- H&M

As promised here are some of my snowfall photos!
Like I said before, falling snow was a totally new concept to me before I ventured to Lake Tahoe for my boys birthday earlier this month! It was so unbelievably silent as it fell, nothing like rain. Living on the coast I never see snow and hardly miss a sunny day.
Ahhhhh its so lovely! I can't wait to experience it again!
