Guest Post- The Moptop

Meet Tonya of The Moptop.
I'm just going to assume most of you bloggers already know her because of her recent wild popularity, especially due to becoming a finalist in Refinery 29's next big style blogger competition
She's a stylish a sweet gal with a late 60s influence!
So enjoy her Jimi Hendrix inspired look and please don't forget to vote for her!

After thinking awhile of who to pick for my 60s style icon...I decided none other than Jimi Hendrix! He's one of my favorite musicians ever and his fashion style is so awesome.
I loved all of the crazy colors and patterns he would wear.

60s school girl

Peter pan collar blouse and plum jacket- Forever 21, Pleated skirt-Target, Vintage 60s bag- Rummage sale

Hello!
Okay So I am cheating here a bit and posting a look I recently did for Love Charles Vintage.
I have been crazy busy and a little depressed, driving myself insane trying to book two models for a shoot I have on March 10th. It's a very involved wedding inspired shoot with a big team of creative people. Our theme is going to be vintage travel; complete with old globes, books, suitcases and cameras.
But perhaps that most important part, the "bride" and "groom" are missing.
So I'm still on the hunt!
Wish me luck!
:)

Guest Post- Someone like you

Meet Lauren of Someone Like you.
She has an adorable vintage style, with 60s doll-like looks, all combined with genuine heartfelt writing.
(Check out that cute 60s white handbag! *Love*)

Swallow Dress w/ Peter Pan Collar (worn as a top): Forever21.
Hounds Tooth Skirt, Black Heels, White Purse: Thrifted.
Red Beret: Target.

Hello sweet readers of Mod Fox!
My name is Lauren. I'm a bashful teenage girl and the blogger behind Someone Like You. I practically swooned when Michelle asked me to guest post for her...words cannot explain how much I admire and look up to her from not only a fashion standpoint, but also a photography and writing standpoint, as well. She truly is one of my blogging crushes!

I took these photos by one of my favorite places in my town. A quiet little lake where the frogs sing sweet melodies to each other in the summer time. Where the cat tails blow on the breezy days and the sunset reflects over the water in the evening. A place where little turtles sit on a log and make kerplunk sounds as they splash into the depths of the water below; a magical place untouched by humans. I'm going to miss this place so much. I'm a senior in high school this year and soon I'll be heading off to college an hour and a half away. I'll miss this place of solitude where I come to reflect, imagine, and dream... It is a comfort to know though that although my life may take me places away from home, this lake will always be right here ❤

Thank you for having me, Michelle!
With much love, Lauren.

Peter collars in dotted colours.

All photos taken by Pete- See his blog Here and his tumblr.

(This pretty, polka dot, peter pan collar number is from forever 21)

I love the sound of a flock of birds flying overhead in the evening.
Everything is so incredibly quiet after twilight.
The echo of feathers that lacerates the clear air seems to send shadows over the crooked branches.
The sound of the intense rush of air through strong and delicate quills.
That whisper of sonancy quickly textures the muted afterglow of pastel colouring.
A troop of wings departing into a darkening sky.

Modern Edie

I usually do my makeup like this everyday, but I decided to Edie it up a little bit.
Edie Sedgwick is my biggest style icon, as some of you already know. Those Edie replica earrings were a gift from my best friend Alicia. (She knows me so well!) But anywho this is just of inspiration for those of you looking to do a modern 60s eye!

Oh darling.

Red sailor dress-Forever 21, Jeffery Campbell Litas, Vintage 60s purse

  Hello!
So I finally got my new Carl Zeiss 85mm 1.4 lens! The glass along with the clarity is beyond amazing, and it has really increased the quality of my work! The above photos were taken with my new baby and a tripod. I think its really important for fashion bloggers to at least try to shoot some of their own images. Its really helpful over all in how you plan the look, the lighting and the location.

Oh and please check out my guest post over at Love Charles Vintage!
Don't forget to follow her as well!
