Ah! The good ol' days, when we walked leopards on leashes..

I can't help but think how interesting it might have been to have a leopard as a pet...

In the 60s the British department store, Harrods used to have an exotic animals department and would actually sell big cats and other wild animals. Wealthy women would buy these big cats and walk them around as fashion accessories. Although I'm VERY glad that has been outlawed, it is a fascinating concept.

  3. Excellent post; I wrote a huge book called MYSTERY ANIMALS OF THE BRITISH ISLES: LONDON which explores the trend of purchasing exotic pets such as 'big cats' from Harrods...and less reputable dealers!
